And how often have we all done this? As ever your strips touch on the essence of what it is to be human and those feelings of estrangement that so many experience.
I’m wondering whether the album sleeve is random, or is it The Smiths?
A great read, Mark. Thank you.
Well, yeah, it is the Smiths first album and still very important to me. Really chuffed you picked up on it – not sure you would have done if I had drawn it! Those angst-ridden teens which seem to have stayed with me. As always, thank you Chris.
You and me both, Mark: Joy Division, The Cure et al.. My ‘Flat-Liner’ music as my wife affectionately refers to it!
Ah thanks Chris. We have similar collections I suspect. My taste in music is pretty eclectic nowadays but I always come back to that new wave/ post punk period.
Cut from the same cloth, as they say!
Help, Rubber Soup, Sgt Pepper
100s of times
Thanks Barry. Yes I have all of those on vinyl and cd! So I know where you’re coming from. Regards Mark.
I’ve drawn that Smiths cover in a strip as well. Great minds think alike! I really like this one, you guys. A very strong effort!
Thanks Tony. Yeah I love all the Smiths covers all those old photos and stills from films and soap operas and such!
Must have been quite the record. I haven’t had that experience to music but I have with books – I can think of one moment in my life when reading book after book felt like they were keeping me from drowning.
Thanks Diahann. I know exactly what you mean.
Wow Mark ! I so ” get this ” ….
So pleased you can relate Meg.
