I think that is the UK version of my favorite US childhood book The Boxcar Children! 💝

We have checked out The Boxcar Children and it isn’t the same book but one Christine is going to buy now. The Railway Children was written around 1905 as a serial and then published in 1906. Christine has loved it since she was a child and treasures the 1956 edition in the photograph. We have seen it on TV, on film and on stage at the York Railway Museum with a real steam train and every time she cries at the last chapter/scene. E Nesbit was a bit of a gal and very much a feminist and socialist which are both easily detected in the story which speaks of corruption, censorship, and different ways of living. Thank you and all the best for Christmas and the New Year.
